Growing Early Literacy Skills Songs & Rhymes (1.5 or 2 hours)
Examine creative ways to help children build and practice early literacy skills through songs and rhymes. Explore how using a puppet along with “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” can turn the song into a model of communication, empathy, and action. See how a flannel board activity with “Humpty Dumpty” can help build self-regulation and other executive function skills. Find ways to combine visual representation, singing, and repetition to support brain development and early literacy skills. Brainstorm with other webinar participants to find new ways to intentionally use songs and rhyme to help children build and strengthen their skills.
