Mother Goose on the Loose programs take place in a joyful atmosphere, use some songs and rhymes by Barbara Cass-Beggs, follow a prescribed format & structure, incorporate developmental tips for adults as well as positive reinforcement for children, and help children develop school readiness skills. Yet, they are quite adaptable. In fact, one of the reasons MGOL is chosen as a infant/toddler program in many public libraries is because it is easy to plan and present. Each leader is asked to share themselves with their audience by injecting their own personalities into the program, and by using materials which they like. Below are examples of some MGOL programs.
