Little eLit is a crowd-sourced, grass-roots professional learning network that works to develop promising practices for the incorporation of new media into library collections, services and programs for families with young children.
The editors of this incredible resources are Cen Campbell (Founder of LittleeLit.com), Carissa Christner (Promo Code Fairy & Youth Services Librarian at the Madison Public Library), Claudia Haines (Curation Coordinator &
Youth Services Librarian at the Homer Public Library in Alaska), and Amy Koester (Editor and Blog Manager, Youth & Family Program Coordinator at the Skokie Public Library).
Recognizing the need that librarians have for up to date information regarding children and new media, a collaboration of Little eLit members produced an online book called Young Children, New Media, and Libraries: A Guide for Incorporating New Media into Library Collections, Services, and Programs for Families and Children Ages 0-5. The book was released serially, one chapter per month, on LittleeLit.com, and the entire book can be accessed by clicking here.
On page 75, an insert written by Carisa Kluver describes the creation of the MGOL app!
